Tuesday and Wednesday, the 11th Annual Nebraska Wind and Solar Energy conference will be held in Lincoln. Conference Co Chair and Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen says at their conferences they’ve been able to come up with ideas to enhance wind energy development that have been successful.
He says Nebraska’s energy from wind projects has increased by more than 1,000 megawatts over the past five years.
Hansen says they expect to see 703 more megawatts of wind energy power come on line next year. He says they’ve found a good balance between public and private wind power.
Hansen says their conference opens on Tuesday and features everything from speakers to workshops to exhibitors.
