A quirky, self-deprecating campaign was unveiled to sell Nebraska’s tourism potential, but it’s raising eyebrows among Nebraskans.

State Tourism Director John Ricks says the new tourism campaign theme, “Nebraska, Honestly it’s Not for Everyone” will use humor to draw people to Nebraska’s quirky side, and doesn’t try to sell the state as a be-all destination

Ricks says the new campaign for next year is designed to lure a large section of vacationers more interested in the unique culture Nebraska has to offer, just as floating down the Niobrara River in a tank

Ricks says the campaign is supposed to attract people who have the desire to explore and peel back the layers of Nebraska’s particular culture with humor as its hook.
