A study of pavement conditions, bridges, traffic congestion and other factors ranks Nebraska’s roads number-two in the country. David Hartgen, lead author of the report for the Reason Foundation, says Nebraska ranks number-one in the nation for rural Interstate pavement condition and 9th in urban areas.
This year, only Wyoming ranked higher. Last year, South Dakota was tops.
Hartgen says the study found Nebraska does a remarkable job, particularly when you consider the size of the state’s road budget.
