Nebraska State officials report exports of beef from the cornhusker state reached a new milestone with record sales in the first eleven months of 2014. Nebraska State Ag Director Greg Ibach says there were several factors leading to the over $ 1 billion of beef exports last year.
Ibach says he’s optimistic about 2015 and is hoping they’ll be able to continue the export momentum achieved last year.
Ibach adds that the value of beef muscle cut exports has increased 250 percent since 2009 while the total number of beef exports during the same time frame doubled. Besides the beef muscle cuts, Ibach says beef livers and tongues saw $ 93 million in exports, up from $ 32.2 million in 2009.
