Nebraska Groups Ask EPA For Quick Re-Registration On Dicamba

Half a dozen Nebraska agriculture groups led by the State Corn Grower’s Association are asking the EPA to quickly re-register dicamba herbicide. Nebraska Corn Grower’s Association President Dan Nerud says farmers are making their spring planting decisions and getting their seeds lined up so they need to know soon what they can use to control problem weeds.

He says there aren’t that many weed control options available and dicamba has been the most effective tool for growers.

Nerud says when growers properly use dicamba and closely follow the product’s label, drift issues are minimized.

Joining the Nebraska Corn Growers in asking for the re-registration are the State Farm Bureau, Nebraska Cooperative Council, State Agri-Business Association, Nebraska Grain and Feed and Soybean Associations.
