Nebraska Group Working On Renewable Energy Legislation

A Nebraska agricultural group along with some state legislators are gearing up for the next session of the Unicameral in January. They are working on a tax credit measure for wind and solar energy. The group fell short passing a bill last session but will try again in 2016 for the modest targeted incentive. State Farmers Union President John Hansen says most Nebraskans support this type of measure.
Hansen says this legislation will help Nebraska compete with other states for renewable energy projects.
He says while wind energy has a lot of potential in Nebraska, solar energy is starting to hit its stride.
Hansen says last year they worked with Senator Jeremy Nordquist on the bill but now are working with Senator Ken Schilz of Ogallala.
