Green Plains Renewable Fuels President and CEO Todd Becker told attendees at the Nebraska Governor’s Ag Conference Thursday that ethanol is having a big impact on the state’s economy.  He says it’s doing that not only through the fuel but through all the value added products it brings with it.

Becker says they’re awaiting a decision from the Environmental Protection Agency on the volume obligations of the renewable fuel standard. He says they’re expecting at least a partial ramp up of those requirements from what EPA proposed.

He says with the economy getting better gas demand is going back up which is a good sign for renewable fuels.
