The group Nebraska Grassroots Resolve is opposing LB 227 which amends the Right to Farm law. The bill was amended and passed out of the State Agriculture Committee. GR President Graham Christensen says it the takes away local control of ag operations.

He says LB 227 also provides an advantage to large agricultural operations over other sizes.

Christensen says if LB 227 passes it will allow Confined Animal Feeding Operations to interfere with the use of another person’s property without repercussion.

Christensen says allowing CAFOs to operate without local restrictions leads to water quality issues.
