Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman has signed a measure backed by the State Farm Bureau that provides regulatory relief for farm truck operators. LB 983 brings Nebraska farm truck regulations in line with federal requirements. Farm Bureau’s Assistant Director of state and regulatory affairs Anthony Aerts says the legislation exempts farm vehicle operators from having to obtain a commercial drivers license and testing requirements.
Aerts says by bringing Nebraska law in line with federal rules it prevents unnecessary costs and regulations from hampering producers.
Nebraska Farm Bureau worked with Senator Annette Dubas of Fullerton and the Nebraska State Patrol to help bring the bill forward and ultimately get it passed and signed by the Governor.
