Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts has vetoed the redistricting bill that made it out of the Unicameral last week, saying it is unconstitutional. The bill would have a special citizen’s commission draw the lines
Ricketts says the bill would create an even more partisan method for redistricting
The Unicameral approved the bill last week on a 29-15 vote. That would be a vote short of the total needed for an override.
The Unicameral returns to the Capitol on Wednesday to consider overrides.
