Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts is likely to get his property tax relief measure, it just will look at lot different than when he proposed it to the legislature.
Senator Mike Gloor of Grand Island had to strip provisions from his bill that would have restricted the revenue growth of local governmental bodies…leaving 20-Million dollars in property tax credits for agricultural property owners

Senator Kate Sullivan of Cedar Rapids sponsors the educational part of the property tax relief package, which will provide 8-and-a-half Million dollars to mostly rural school districts, which she sees as significant.

The Unicameral meets both today (TUE) and tomorrow and then has one last day this legislative session next week.
