Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts points to a faltering agricultural economy as a reason for the Unicameral to continue to cut property taxes.
Ricketts delivered his State of the State speech Thursday, then flew around the state to meet with reporters.
Ricketts says though commodity prices have fallen, farmers still have hefty tax bills to pay. . .
Ricketts also proposes the legislature create a Transportation Infrastructure Bank by shifting 150-Million dollars from cash reserves to the bank.
Ricketts says it is possible that not all of the 150-Million dollars might be needed. . .
The Transportation Infrastructure Bank would provide money to speed up construction of expressways, help counties repair bridges, and fund infrastructure improvements needed to attract business to Nebraska.
