Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts has proposed a mixture of budget cuts and revenue adjustments to deal with a 267-Million-dollar revenue shortfall in the current fiscal year.

The governor proposes the Legislature approve across-the-board cuts totaling 42-Million dollars and specific cuts totaling 51-Million. He also wants to withhold money appropriated, but not needed, and recapture cash funds which haven’t been used. The proposal also requests taking 92-Million dollars from the cash reserve fund.
