Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts says he’s pleased the legislature moved his property tax relief package this year.
Ricketts says he’s not too concerned that legislators watered down the measures before passing them. . .

Ricketts had advocated restrictions on the revenue raised by local governmental bodies. Legislators stripped those from the bill and reduced the property tax credits for agricultural land by 10-Million dollars.
Still, Ricketts calls it a step forward. . .

One of the bills also changed the school funding formula, providing an extra 8-and-a-half Million dollars to mostly rural schools…easing pressure on them to increase their levies.
