Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen delivered his first “State of the State” speech to the Unicameral Wednesday.
He told Senators that they are sitting on a pile of money….
The state has over a billion dollars in reserve funds.
Pillen says they have to make drastic changes in the state’s tax policy and make budget cuts…..
Pillen says state spending will be tightly controlled….
Pillen also repeated his promise to increase state aid to K – 12 education by more than two billion dollars over the next six years.
