Missouri Governor Jay Nixon will serve as Chairman and Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts will serve as Vice Chairman of the Governor’s Biofuels Coalition this year.  Nebraska Ethanol Board administrator Todd Sneller says that will be beneficial for the biofuels industry going forward.

The Coalition says it will continue to advocate for policies that grow the biofuels industry such as proposing legislation that will encourage investment in the nation’s advanced biofuel industry. Sneller says that will be helpful as well as the Coalition’s working with other Governor’s across the country.

Sneller says the Governor’s Coalition will also be able to push ahead the health benefits of biofuels.

Sneller says it’s positive the Governor’s coalition plans to ask the EPA to enforce Section 202 of the Clean Air Act to limit aromatics and open the market for ethanol by dropping obsolete vapor pressure restrictions on higher ethanol blends.
