Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts this week announced that $100 million is available for livestock producers under the Nebraska Coronavirus Relief Fund Program. Nebraska Cattlemen Association President Ken Herz says that help is not only appreciated but needed due to the impacts of the pandemic.

He says under the program, beef, pork, poultry, dairy and sheep and goat producers with between 1 and 10 employees are eligible for the state grant.

Herz says the major detrimental effect from the pandemic is the backlog of animals that weren’t able to be processed.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development is administering the program and for more information producers can go to the getnebraskagrowing.nebraska.gov/ website or phone 1-855-264-8858. Nebraska’s total share of CRF funds is $1.25 billion.
