Tuesday, a Mexican trade delegation was in Nebraska and met with Governor Pete Ricketts, as well as corn industry and U.S. Grains Council officials. Governor Ricketts says Mexico is a top export customer for Nebraska and U.S. agricultural commodities and that relationship needs to be fostered.
Mexican trade team spokesman Felipe Vasante says his group is very concerned about a redo of NAFTA .
National Corn Growers Executive Vice President Jon Doggett says it’s critical to keep NAFTA in place and modernize it, but not do a total revamp.
Vasante says just last week, Mexican officials were in South America talking about importing corn from Brazil.

Vasante adds they want to improve relations with the United States because they prefer to buy from U.S. farmers.
