Nebraska Gets Federal Grant to Upgrade Election Security

Nebraska will receive a $3.5 -Million grant from the federal government to upgrade election security systems for the November elections and beyond.
Secretary of State John Gale says while Nebraska conducts its elections with physical ballots and results have been historically accurate, there are electronic features of the election system that require upgrades…

Gale says the grant will help with security challenges, but as Nebraska’s current election systems age, state lawmakers need to start thinking about how they will protect elections in the future..

Gale says lawmakers need to decide soon what type of election system they prefer and how they’re going to fund it. Congress allocated 380-Million dollars to enhance election security across the U.S.
