Today, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts along with USDA Acting Deputy Secretary Michael Scuse and ethanol leaders are announcing the availability of E15 fuel to the Omaha metro area. Nebraska Ethanol Board Administrator Todd Sneller says it’s the first large scale introduction of E15 in Nebraska and also covers a large regional area.
He says consumers want this renewable fuel blend because it has several benefits.
Sneller says the next step necessary to boost the market is for the EPA to fix the Reid Vapor Pressure rule that keeps E15 from being offered year round.
Today’s announcement means E15 is available for passenger vehicle models 2001 and newer at nine Omaha metro area Kum and Go stations.
