Defending national champion Nebraska is the No. 1 seed for the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament and will host New Hampshire on Friday night.

The 64-team tournament field was announced Sunday.

The winner between Nebraska (27-2) and New Hampshire (21-10) plays Saturday in Lincoln against Wichita State (24-7) or TCU (14-12). Nebraska is in the tournament for the 35th consecutive year.

Creighton (26-6) is in the field for the fifth straight year and will open against Northern Iowa (24-9) on Thursday in Lawrence, Kansas. The winner of that match plays host Kansas (26-2) or Samford (21-13) on Friday.

Teams winning both matches will move to regional play Dec. 9-10 at sites to be determined after play concludes Saturday. The national semifinals and final are Dec. 15 and 17 in Columbus, Ohio.

Big Ten teams hold the top three seeds, with Minnesota No. 2 and Wisconsin No. 3. The Big 12’s Texas is No. 4.
