The USDA Farm Service Agency in Nebraska has announced that emergency grazing of Conservation Reserve Program acres is authorized for all Nebraska counties due to the impacts of recent flooding and blizzards. FSA spokeswoman Bobbie Kriz Wickham says those who want to utilize the emergency grazing program must contact their local FSA office before moving ahead on any grazing.
She says any livestock producer working with a CRP acreage owner who wants to participate in the emergency grazing also must stop in their local FSA office. Wickham says the CRP rental rates won’t go down during the emergency authorization.
Wickham says the Emergency Conservation Program was also authorized this week to help producers with cost share for things like fencing replacement, debris removal and grading and leveling of impacted fields.
ECP enrollment will vary by county and the time frame will be set by each county committee.
