The Nebraska Food Council will be holding their winter meeting this month on the 25th on line. The group was started in 2017 by the Center for Rural Affairs. Center’s Project Associate Justin Carter says one of their major focuses is getting more local foods into schools.

He says one of the Nebraska Food Council’s main concerns is the amount of those who are food insecure. Carter says due to that they’re working on the double up food box through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance program.

Carter says anyone involved in the food sector is invited to their zoom meeting set for January 25.

Carter says anyone wanting more information about the Nebraska Food Council can log onto their website at Cfra.org.
