Nebraska Farmers Union members will be holding their state convention on Friday December 3. The meeting will be held virtually rather than in person. That will create somewhat of a problem for members debating policy. Heading up that part of the Convention is Plymouth area farmer and Vice President of the group, Vern Jantzen.

He says most of their county groups are meeting to talk about what policy they’ll submit for consideration at the December 3 convention. Jantzen says part of what they already have in their policy is being discussed in Congress including market concentration and country of origin labeling.

Jantzen says one of their major concerns is what the EPA decides to do with the renewable volume obligations in the renewable fuel standard.

Jantzen is running again for Vice President and current President John Hansen is running for re-election for another two-year term. Delegates will also elect directors for three year terms during the Convention.
