Repealing the Affordable Care Act without some type of replacement for health care will negatively impact agriculture. That’s according to Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen, who says without Congress fixing the pre-existing condition issue, farmers and ranchers won’t be able to get health insurance coverage.

He says having a large number of farmers and ranchers uninsured leads to farm bankruptcies.

Hansen says whatever replacement health care legislation is passed, for it to work for agriculture it must address the pre-existing condition problem and must be affordable for producers.

Hansen says Congress needs to quit bickering and get down to finding a universal health care solution.
