Nebraska Farmers Union members wrapped up their convention this weekend approving policy through several special orders of business. President John Hansen says one major resolution calls for supporting an increase in Medicaid expansion.
Hansen says another important special order of business calls for reduction in property taxes and they hope to work with the Unicameral to achieve that.
Hansen says other special orders of business approved by their membership calls for supporting the second beef check off program proposed by Ag Secretary Vilsack and repealing the present program. They also back Country of Origin Labeling and the decision by USTR to appeal that to the WTO. He says they also passed policy calling for support of the Renewable Fuel Standard.
