Trans Canada has proposed three routes for their Keystone XL Pipeline to run through Nebraska. Their preferred route along with two others are available for viewing on the Public Service Commission’s website. Last week the PSC held a hearing on the preferred route and took testimony. Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen says his group opposes all three routes that have been proposed.
He says the State Of Nebraska didn’t put in a proper routing and siting process for oil pipelines.
Hansen says the PSC is supposed to give weight to an existing, established and properly sited route. He says Trans Canada doesn’t need the three routes they’ve proposed because they already have a route that meets those PSC requirements.

Hansen expects the Nebraska PSC to make a decision on whether or not to approve a route for Keystone XL in either October or November.
