The Nebraska Farmers Union Foundation is raising money to help out the State’s Rural Response Hotline. So far the Foundations has raised $650 dollars and is teaming up with the Give to Lincoln Foundation. Farmers Union Foundation President Jeff Kirkpatrick says whatever they contribute to the Lincoln foundation is matched by them with a portion going to the hotline.

He says last year they had a very successful fund raising campaign for the Rural Response Hotline gathering a record amount of donations.

Kirkpatrick says last year the hotline received over 4500 calls and over 3300 mental health vouchers were handed out. Flooding in the state last year along with this year’s pandemic has increased calls to the hotline. He also says the hotline provides several mental health services to help farmers and ranchers.

Those needing access to the Nebraska Rural Response Hotline can phone 1—800—464—0258.
