Nebraska Farmers Suing for Dicamba Damage

Bloomfield, Nebraska farmer Shane Greckel has filed a federal lawsuit against Monsanto and other companies whose products contain the herbicide dicamba. He says dicamba off-target drift damaged his soybean field last summer.

He says even if seemingly proper steps are taken on dicamba application and then damage occurs anyway, farmers need to be reimbursed.

Greckel says it’s important producers are proactive when they use dicamba or related products so they and their neighbor’s crops remain safe during treatment.

Greckel says he’s confident the dicamba damage to his soybeans came from his neighbor’s use of the herbicide.
