Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson and Nebraska Cattlemen Association President Troy Stowater recently met with Ag Secretary nominee Sonny Perdue. Nelson says while in Washington D.C. they discussed several topics with Perdue, including trade.
Nelson says because Perdue understands trade, he’s hoping he’ll be able to convince the President to move forward with bilateral trade deals.
He says they also talked about the next farm bill with Perdue and what needs to be included to benefit all of U.S. agriculture.
Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse set up the meeting for the two Nebraska farm group leaders.
