Congress has been trying to find a way to end the partial government shutdown. Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen says they need to be able to do business without having it tied to funding the government.
The stoppage of the government has caused many problems and Hansen says for agriculture the toughest has been not having needed services available to help them keep operating.
He says at least having the Farm Service Agency offices reopened is helpful.
The partial government shutdown has been caused by bickering between the President and Congressional Democrats over his wishes for funding a border wall and they’re refusal to allow that.
