Nebraska Farm Group President Says Supplemental Disaster Aid Needed

Congress this week has been working on a supplemental disaster aid package but so far is being held up on politics. Nebraska Farmers Union President John Hansen says Congress has a lot to consider what with earlier blizzard and hurricane damage and the recent flooding that hammered the Northern Plains. He says that measure is badly needed and Congress needs to follow through.

He says it’ll take a lot of groups and individuals working together to help with the flood recovery.

Hansen says it’s the responsibility of Congress to get past any political divisions and get the disaster legislation passed.

Hansen says his group’s Foundation Board is assisting farmers and ranchers hurt by the flooding. He says those interested can go to their website for more information.
