This week, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt signed a proposal to roll back Obama era greenhouse gas emission regulations. The move is being hailed by the Nebraska Farm Bureau. National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says when the rule was originally brought out, the EPA admitted it would be costly to the economy.
He says not only would the regulation have been costly had it been allowed to go forward but would have had little impact on greenhouse gases.
Dux says the repeal process will take time and will be much like the rewrite of the Waters of the U.S. rule.
Dux says another problem with the greenhouse gas regulation is it would have driven up electricity costs and negatively impacted farmers and ranchers.
