The Nebraska Farm Bureau is joining Senate Ag Committee chairman Pat Roberts in supporting the Sensible Environmental Protection Act legislation. The bill amends the Clean Water Act and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act. It clarifies Congressional intent regarding pesticide use in or near navigable waters. Nebraska Farm Bureau National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says the measures is a continuation of the roll back of needless federal rules.

He says the bill spells out what Congress wants with federal rules regarding pesticide use.

Dux says the legislation helps ensure that there’s a sensible approach to protecting the environment.

Dux says with Senators Pat Roberts, Claire McCaskill and Mike Crapo backing the measure shows it has bipartisan support and a good chance of passing.
