Nebraska Farm Bureau leaders have come out with their top three stories of 2016 as they impact farmers and ranchers. President Steve Nelson says the top one is the depressed ag economy.

He says their second top issue is the excessive and burdensome regulations being faced by ag producers.

Nelson says the third top story is the increase in property taxes and the need for tax reform in Nebraska.

Nelson says besides those top three issues, development of a new farm bill and trade are likely to be important priorities that will need to be addressed in the new year.
