Nebraska Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Committee members recently met with the State’s Congressional Delegation in the nation’s capital. YF and R member and Wayne County producer John Temme says they weighed in on trade concerns and the new farm bill.

He says his group is remaining optimistic despite the recent challenges caused by the trade war and is encouraging the administration and Congress to work hard to resolve the trade dispute and push for new markets.

Temme says their group also told lawmakers about the need to get a farm bill passed this year and that both House and Senate measures contain positive provisions.

Temme says despite all of the challenges facing farmers and ranchers their YF and R group believes agriculture has a bright future.
