Nebraska Farm Bureau Wants Property Tax Reform

The top priority for Nebraska Farm Bureau members at the state level is meaningful property tax reform. State President Steve Nelson says they share that goal with Governor Elect Pete Ricketts. He says they made an initial start during last year’s session of the Unicameral and hope to build on that in 2015.
Nelson says not only does the state legislature need to take action on reforming property taxes in 2015 but also needs to take a hard look at reducing spending at all levels of government.
Nelson says an important component of property tax relief will be putting more money into the property tax credit program. Nelson shared those thoughts as he spoke this week to Farm Bureau members attending their state convention in Kearney.
