The Nebraska Farm Bureau has developed a checklist to help farmers and ranchers dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak. President Steve Nelson says it’s imperative that producers protect their own personal health and put a contingency plan in place for any potential labor shortages.

Nelson advises producers to develop a backup plan for chores normally handled by one individual in case that person gets ill.

He says it’s important to make sure you have all the supplies you need on your farm or ranch.

Nelson says if producers run into any problems conducting their normal business due to the coronavirus outbreak, they should contact farm bureau or the State Agriculture Department for assistance.
