Nebraska Farm Bureau members are pleased State Senators have moved LB 512 to select file. Farm Bureau State Government Relations Director Ansley Mick says the measure provides property tax relief for those who’ve been hurt by the flooding.

She’s hoping by moving that bill, it will lead state lawmakers to pass other needed property tax relief legislation.

Mick says while advancing LB 512 is positive, it will take a long time to recover from the damage caused by late March flooding. She says many are looking to the federal government for additional assistance.

Mick says on the property tax relief legislation, they’re working with Senators to find a better way to fund education and increase that funding going forward.
