Farm groups have differing opinions on how to address health care. The Senate is expected to vote this week on the Graham-Cassidy bill to replace the Affordable Care Act. Nebraska Farm Bureau National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says his group likes many components of the Graham-Cassidy legislation and is supportive of repealing the ACA.
He says one part of the Graham-Cassidy bill that is positive is allowing the states more decision making power on health care.
Dux isn’t as concerned as some groups are about CBO not having scored the Graham-Cassidy legislation yet. He says their more worried about the high cost of health insurance and health care.
Dux says even those who support the Affordable Care Act admit that the individual marketplaces, where most farmers and ranchers go to get insured, is in shambles.
