The Nebraska Farm Bureau has come out in support of LB 947, tax relief legislation introduced by Senator Jim Smith on behalf of Governor Pete Ricketts. Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says it contains important property tax relief as well as corporate and personal income tax relief.

He says LB 947 provides property tax relief based on a tax credit tied to income taxes.

Nelson says the measure is a work in progress that will need some tweaking. He also says it’s probably got the best chance of passing in a shortened legislative session.

Nelson says his group is also backing other property tax relief bills so they’re not placing all of their eggs in one basket.
