Last week Nebraska Department of Road’s director said the state needs to spend $ 10.2 billion in the next 20 years on its highways and roads. Nearly a third of that or $ 3.1 billion is for rural highway reconfiguration and bridges. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Vice President of Government Relations Jay Rempe says during their state policy meeting last week his group offered some possible funding solutions they may want the legislature to consider.
Rempe says another funding idea they’re group came up with would involve bonding.
Nebraska Farm Bureau’s annual meeting runs December 7 through the 9 in Kearney.
