Nebraska Farm Bureau Still Working on Property Tax

With the Unicameral winding down the Nebraska Farm Bureau is still working hard to get a property tax cut measure passed. President Steve Nelson says their group is now supporting LB 947, Governor Pete Rickett’s bill, which provides both income tax and property tax relief.

He says LB 947 is the only tax cut bill moving and it’s their best hope of getting reform yet this session.

Nelson says Farm Bureau is also backing the petition drive which is calling for voters to approve a ballot measure on property tax relief.

Nelson says Farm Bureau has joined a coalition of agricultural groups and other organizations that support a ballot initiative.
