Nebraska Farm Bureau Seeing Success With Health Insurance Plan

One of the major problems in rural America has been the skyrocketing cost of health insurance. Farmers and Ranchers have seen extremely large premiums or been unable to even obtain health insurance. Due to that problem, the Nebraska Farm Bureau in 2019 embarked on their member Health Insurance program. Farm Bureau’s Chief Administrator Rob Robertson says they’ve been able to save producers money with this and also been able to give them coverage.

He says their enrollment this year has been good and they’re hoping to increase that in 2021.

Robertson says for many farmers and ranchers who needed individual health insurance coverage, the Affordable Care Act didn’t work and that compelled them to start their own program in 2019.

Robertson says they’ll begin taking enrollment for their health insurance plan on November 1 until December 15 for 2021 coverage. Anyone needing more information can go to their website.
