Nebraska Farm Bureau officials rolled out a report entitled, “Nebraska Agriculture and International Trade’’. The analysis concludes that trade is critical to the long-term health of Nebraska agriculture. Farm Bureau Senior Economist Jay Rempe says the report shows their top commodities exported are soybeans, followed by corn and beef.

National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says the study came at the request of the state’s farmers and ranchers who are concerned about a trade war, following the Administration’s announced trade tariffs and talk of withdrawing from existing agreements.

Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says they’ll be sharing this report with President Trump and Congress.

Nelson says the message they want to send to the President and Congress to do no harm to agricultural trade.
