A delegation from Nebraska is headed to Taiwan this week to formally sign a trade deal to sell over $ 400 million worth of grains and meats to the island nation. Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson is joining the group. He says this deal comes at a good time for the state’s farmers and ranchers given the current downturn in the ag economy.

Nelson says all trade deals are important to agriculture.

Taiwan has agreed to purchase beef, pork, corn, soybeans, wheat and DDGs from Nebraska.
