With the switchover of party control in the House, there may be some pushback in getting the USMCA trade deal ratified. Democrats are looking at possibly holding up the deal because of labor issues. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s Director of National Affairs Jordan Dux says that’s a problem as the USMCA needs to get completed.
He says it’s critical they get enough backing from both sides of the aisle to get the remade NAFTA over the finish line.
Dux says the other major trade problem is eliminating the steel and aluminum tariffs the U.S. has placed on several countries so free trade deals can go forward.
Dux says trade resolution with China is also badly needed as soybeans are piling up and need a solid export market.
