Nebraska Farm Bureau members and their leaders are backing various pieces of property tax relief legislation this session. Farm Bureau’s Director of Government Relations Ansley Mick says one measure introduced this week they’re supporting is Senator Steve Erdman’s bill that achieves property tax relief through refundable income taxes. She says they’re trying to find solutions to the billion dollar cost of Erdman’s measure.

Governor Pete Ricketts has voiced concern regarding the cost of Erdman’s legislation. Mick says they’re trying to convince him to support the bill.

Mick says her group is also looking at backing some other property tax relief bills being proposed.

She says Farm Bureau also likes Senator Tom Briese’s property tax measure and are visiting with him about that.
