Nebraska Farm Bureau Members Encourage With Trade Success

American Farm Bureau members meeting in Austin, Texas this week are focusing on trade and regulations. Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says their group has been encouraged with recent successes the U.S. has had on trade with enactment of the Japan bilateral deal, the USMCA pact and signing of the phase one agreement with China. He says all of that bodes well for future agreements.

He says there’s also optimism about trade deals with the European Union and the United Kingdom. However, it will also take a lot of work to get those completed.

Nelson says on the regulatory front, members continue to work with the administration on getting regulations reduced for farmers and ranchers.

Nelson says Farm Bureau members also want an Ag Labor Bill passed that addresses the shortage of workers filling year-round jobs on farms and ranches.
