The House returns from the Memorial Holiday recess this week and is expected to take up the Trade Promotion Authority legislation, which passed the Senate prior to the break. Nebraska Farm Bureau’s National Affairs Coordinator Jordan Dux says it’ll be a challenge to get the bill approved in the House.

Dux is also hoping there won’t be several amendments attached to the legislation. He says just getting a TPA measure passed is his group’s priority.

Dux says he understands some people’s concerns regarding the need to address issues like currency manipulation but says the bigger picture is making sure trade deals can go forward and TPA is central to that.
